Close out sale of Garnier Fructis for 1.97. Added on a 1.00 off coupon and got some shampoo for only .97!

Purex HE detergent was BOGO free... Added on a 1.00 off coupon.. I got two things of HE laundry detergents for only 5 bucks!

I am starting a blog to let everyone know the benefits I have had from couponing!
It all started when I wanted to create some food storage. Getting started is expensive, but then my sister in law told me about this show and the light went off! Coupons!!
As a kid I always wondered what the point of saving 25 cents on a box of cereal was! Now that I am the one making the money and paying the bills, I completely understand why!
As Scott from HGTV says, 'Take Checks to the Bank!' It's really not about being greedy, it's about being smart! Save money in certain places so you can always have a rainy day fund, especially in this economy and with all the crazy natural disasters going on! Even if you are doing well now, things could completely turn around any day!
One of the things that Tod and I have in common is how to spend money! Even though he is better at saving than I am, we look at everything we buy as an investment! Starting with our home. We could lose our job everyday, but contantly doing upgrades to our house while we can afford to will help us incase we ever need to sell it. A house is an investment, unlike a car, which will always go up. We are lucky enough to live in a town where the real estate market has not crashed and our property value keeps climbing. So we are taking time to keep that value soaring! Anyways, i'm getting off topic. So, just like other purchases, like a house, we should take the time to save money on groceries and household goods! That is what this blog is about!
Even though I love teaching, I should have stayed a finance major! I might have learned more!!
